How is the Highlands different from Lincoln's older neighborhoods?

It is young. In the Highlands census tract, 46% of homes were built in the 1990s, against 13% citywide, and another 23% since 2000. Only 2% predate 1960, where in Country Club or Havelock most homes do. Seventy percent are detached houses, and the three-bedroom house is the norm: 48% of homes, compared with 32% across Lincoln. Two-bedroom homes, the most common size in Havelock, are just 11% here.

So a typical Highlands house has a main bedroom plus two more bedrooms for kids or guests, which is three mattresses in one visit.

What does a whole-house visit include?

Every mattress gets a material inspection, low-moisture dry vapor steam on the surface, seams and tufts, HEPA vacuuming and UV-C light treatment, with enzyme treatment for urine. The visit includes two checks: a moisture check after the job and the built-in bed mite sensor on our UV-C vacuum. Why heat and low moisture work is explained in the Sleep Sanitation Knowledge Center.

Does living next to the airport's weather station tell you anything?

It tells you the outdoor numbers are about as local as they get. NOAA's Lincoln normals are measured at Lincoln Airport, about a mile from the neighborhood: an average dew point near 65°F in July and 17°F in January. LLCHD recommends 30 to 50 percent humidity indoors. A hygrometer shows where each room sits; a finished basement bedroom is the room to watch in summer. Our Lincoln humidity and bed mites guide has the details.

What about a used bed for a growing kid?

Check it before it comes home. Our first-night reset guide for a used mattress covers what to look for.

What does a visit cost in the Highlands?

The same as anywhere in Lincoln: the first mattress is $249, any size, with normal stains, pet odor and ordinary urine accidents included. Each additional full, queen or king in the same visit is $199, each additional kids bed (twin or full) is $149, and underside treatment is +$50–$75 per mattress. A severe or biohazard case carries a surcharge we quote before starting. Every visit includes UV-C light treatment, HEPA vacuuming and two checks: a moisture check after the job and the built-in bed mite sensor on our UV-C vacuum. 72-hour bedroom CO₂ testing is a separate optional service, priced by quote, and it isn't a medical test. See Lincoln pricing for every rate.

What do the Highlands households ask?

Do you serve the Highlands and the rest of northwest Lincoln?

Yes, all of Lincoln and Lancaster County. Call or text (402) 512-5658, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm; we return weekend calls and texts.

Our house is from the 1990s. Does a newer house change anything?

Not the method. Any house can have a basement bedroom that runs damp in a Lincoln July, when the airport's average dew point is about 65°F. The bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch, and we run a moisture check after the job.

What would three beds in one Highlands house cost?

$249 for the first mattress, any size, then $199 for each additional full, queen or king, or $149 for each additional kids bed (twin or full), in the same visit.

Our kids' mattresses have had accidents. Is that extra?

Ordinary urine accidents are included, along with normal stains and pet odor. Severe or biohazard cases carry a surcharge we quote before starting.

Should we book before or after a trip?

Before you leave is easier to plan around, so you come home to a made bed. Either way, the bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch, and we run a moisture check after the job.
