Husker game weekends: planning mattress care around home games
After the October 3, 2026 Homecoming game against Maryland, Nebraska has three home games left at Memorial Stadium in 2026: Indiana on October 10 at 11:00 AM CDT, then Washington on October 31 and Ohio State on November 21, kickoff times still TBA. We work Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, so a Husker weekend's cleaning slot is the weekday before check-in or the Monday after checkout.
Host checklist
- Hold a weekday before each Lincoln home weekend for a mattress check, instead of Saturday morning.
- Use the three-week gaps after October 10 and after October 31 for a full mattress cleaning.

- Confirm your guest count fits Lincoln's cap: two people per sleeping area, up to 12.

Between those dates Nebraska plays at Oregon on October 17, at Illinois on Friday, November 6, at Rutgers on November 14 and at Iowa on Friday, November 27. So after October 10, Lincoln goes two weekends without a home game, three weeks between home games, until October 31, and the same thing happens again before November 21.
How do hosts use the gaps between games?
A home weekend can fill a listing to the city's cap, two per sleeping area and never more than 12, and more beds get slept in. That makes away weekends the right time for a full mattress cleaning, not the Friday before a Memorial Stadium kickoff. For 2026, the two windows are October 12 to 29 and November 2 to 19.
On a home weekend itself, the realistic job is a check at sheet change, not a cleaning, and your emergency contact, who the city requires to be able to reach the property within 45 minutes, can do it. If something needs attention, book the next weekday, and use Airbnb's preparation time setting, which offers none, one night or two nights before and after each reservation, so the bed has the time it needs.
Where does a cleaning fit on a Husker weekend?
- Before the weekend. For October 31, that means Thursday, October 29, a day ahead of Friday arrivals, with the bed left unmade until it's dry to the touch.
- After the weekend. After Indiana on October 10, that's Monday, October 12; we run a moisture check after the job, and the bed stays unmade until it's dry to the touch. Sleep Sanitation explains how quickly a treated mattress should dry.
- Never on game day. Calls and texts get returned on weekends, so you can book the Monday slot from the stadium.

What don't we know?
- Kickoff times for October 31 and November 21. Nebraska lists them as TBA.
- Postseason dates. Nebraska's schedule ends at Iowa on November 27 for now.
- Other Lincoln event weekends. This page covers football only; we haven't verified 2027 dates for other Lincoln events.

Can you clean a mattress on a Husker Saturday?
No. Our Lincoln hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. We return calls and texts on weekends, so you can book Monday's slot from the stadium.
Do game-day guests change Lincoln's occupancy limit?
No. The city's cap is the same every night: two people per sleeping area, up to 12, whoever is in town.
Do game weekends change your rates?
