Nebraska Wesleyan move-in: a mattress plan for Prairie Wolves

Nebraska Wesleyan's new-student move-in for fall 2026 is Wednesday, August 19, 8:30 a.m. to noon, with early check-in on August 18 for students traveling more than 300 miles. Hall mattresses belong to NWU Residential Education, so we do not clean them. Off-campus apartments near campus are bookable at $249 for the first mattress, any size.

When this matters

  1. August 4, 2026

    Fall semester bill due. NWU says the student account must be settled before move-in. (NWU Residential Education)

  2. August 18, 2026, 2–5 p.m.

    Early move-in for new students traveling more than 300 miles. (NWU Residential Education)

  3. August 19, 2026, 8:30 a.m.–noon

    New-student residence hall move-in. Check in at Admissions in Smith-Curtis. Prairie Wolves Welcome runs August 19 to 23. (NWU)

  4. August 21–22, 2026

    Sophomores, juniors and seniors move in (Fri 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or Sat 10 a.m.–1 p.m.) at the Residential Education Office in Centennial Hall. (NWU Residential Education)

What should NWU hall students pack for the bed?

Extra-long sheets, blankets, pillows and a mattress pad. NWU's move-in tips list those as bring items and do not list a personal mattress. Hall beds stay with Residential Education.

When does an off-campus reset fit Prairie Wolves Welcome?

Book for a weekday before August 19, or for the week of August 21 if returners are the ones moving into an apartment. Leave the bed unmade until it is dry to the touch; we run a moisture check after the job. Check the care label and warranty terms first.

What we don't know

  • 2027 NWU move-in times. Residential Education publishes them closer to summer.
  • Whether a specific Townhouse or suite bed has ever been cleaned. Ask the student who lived there last.

Questions from students and parents

Does NWU provide the mattress?

Yes, in residence halls. First-year halls list extra-long twin mattresses about 36 inches by over 80 inches. Townhouse Village and Heim/White Suites list 39 by 80 inch beds. Bring extra-long sheets and a pad; we do not clean NWU hall beds.

When should an off-campus NWU student book?

The week before August 19 if furniture is arriving around Prairie Wolves Welcome. Book while the room is empty; the bed stays unmade until it is dry to the touch.
